🎼 Это программное музыкальное произведение — внутренний отклик на впечатления во время прогулок по старым кварталам Цюриха.
📝 Символизм четырёх ведущих линий:
🪈 Соло флейты Меллотрона (сыграно на раритетной альтовой мелодике Хонер, затем тембр изменён при редактировании) — дыхание исполнителя, душа, символ женщины и её места в социуме — от Средневековья и эпохи Реформации до наших дней.
👉 Именно поэтому образ средневековой женщины появляется всегда, когда вступает флейта, на фоне колышущейся от ветра занавески. Обратите внимание, что «ожившее» изображение этой женщины в начале перфоманса отличается от того, что в конце: это уже вполне современная молодая женщина, словно ответы на извечные вопросы она будет искать всегда, независимо от эпохи, в которой живёт.
🎶 Быстрые пассажи струнных (зелёные падающие ноты) — риторические фигуры; по канонам позднеготической и ренессансной музыки символизируют мирскую суету, приземлённость.
🎻 Низкая виолончельная линия, местами удвоенная контрабасами в октаву — основа всей композиции, символ доктрин и постулатов, внушающих уважение и страх. Величественная хоральность, особенно в сочетании с флейтой, иногда напоминает фрагменты средневековых хоралов.
🎚️ 🎹 🖥️ Главный инструмент — синтезатор Cypher2 от ROLI— многомерная мозаичная краска всего произведения, рисующая в воображении тайну, надежду, искру и свет.

🗝️ “What the Walls of Old Zürich Keep Silent About”
✨ A Symphonic Picture for Synthesizer, #Mellotron Flute, and Strings
📀 Recorded & Performed by Zorii Fain in #Zürich, #Switzerland, 11.09.2025.
🎼 This musical piece is an inner response to impressions during walks through the old quarters of Zürich.
📝 Symbolism of the four main voices:
🪈 Mellotron Flute solo (originally played on a vintage #Hohner #Melodica Alto, later timbre-edited) — the performer’s breath, the soul, a symbol of the woman and her place in society — from the Middle Ages and the Reformation era up to the present day.
👉 That is why the image of a medieval woman always appears whenever the flute enters, against the backdrop of a curtain swaying in the wind. Notice that the “revived” image of this woman at the beginning of the performance is different from the one at the end: there she is already a fully modern young woman, as if she will always be searching for answers to eternal questions, regardless of the era in which she lives.
🎶 Fast string passages (green falling notes) — rhetorical figures; according to late #Gothic and #Renaissance canons, they symbolize worldly vanity and earthliness.
🎻 A low cello line, sometimes doubled an octave lower by the double basses — the foundation of the whole composition, symbol of doctrines and postulates that inspire respect and fear. Its majestic chorale character, especially in dialogue with the flute, sometimes recalls fragments of medieval chants.
🎚️ 🎹 🖥️ Main instrument — the #Cypher2 synthesizer by #ROLI — a multidimensional, mosaic sound painting that evokes mystery, hope, spark, and light.
